Memorial Day observances in Knoxville will be held on Friday morning, as volunteers erect the Avenue of Flags.
Flags will be placed around Graceland Cemetery starting at 7:00 a.m. This will be followed by a brief memorial tribute at the Veteran’s Plot, and breakfast for the participants at the VFW.
On Sunday, May 26th, fifteen Quilts of Valor will be presented to selected veterans in the commons area at Knoxville High School starting at 1:30 p.m.
There will also be a Memorial Day program on Monday, May 27th at 10:00 a.m. at Bellefontaine Cemetery in Tracy.
The Avenue of Flags will be in place through Tuesday, May 28th at 3:00; the American Legion, the VFW, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are scheduled to take part in all these events.
