The proposed purchase of a used ladder truck for the Knoxville Fire Department will be up for discussion at tonight’s City Council meeting.
The truck is available from Wisconsin, and would cost $49,900; this would be far less than the $1 million necessary for a new truck of similar style, and would be paid for out of the Vehicle and Equipment Replacement Fund.
Also scheduled for the meeting is a public hearing on the proposed lease renewal for the Knoxville Senior Center; it would allow the Center to continue using the basement of City Hall for three more years, at a cost of $1 per year.
And the city will examine proposed traffic control changes to West Robinson and South Roche Streets.
The Knoxville City Council meeting convenes at 6:15 p.m. and can be heard live on AM 1320/FM 94.3/FM 95.3 KNIA.
