A protest against the recent abortion legislation in Alabama and Missouri will be held in Indianola and across the country today, with the rallying cry of #StopTheBans. The protest will focus in ending the effort to produce legislation to criminalize ending a pregnancy, and the harshness of recent laws passed that do not allow abortions even if the mother is a victim of rape or incest, or if the pregnancy threatens the life of the mother. The Indianola protest is organized by Indivisible Warren County, and held today at Moats Park off of Highway 65/69 beginning at 4:30pm. Other protests will be similarly held today in Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Fairfield, and Des Moines.
