The Pella City Council took the next step in annexing land for a proposed resurfacing of 218th Avenue at their meeting this week. Assistant City Administrator Corey Goodenow says the council authorized city staff to proceed with an 80-20 annexation to get all land adjacent to the street in the corporate limits. Currently, owners of 97% of the land in question have consented to annexation, however, three percent don’t, so the city will hire legal counsel to complete the process.
