A man from Lovilia has been sentenced to two years probation, after pleading guilty to a lesser charge stemming from a fight in a bar in March.

24-year-old Joshua Davis entered the plea Thursday in Marion County Court; he was sentenced on a Class D felony charge of assault causing serious injury.

Davis was originally charged with a Class C felony count of willful injury causing serious injury after the fight in a Bussey establishment on March 23rd.

Davis admitted to striking the victim, who wound up having to be hospitalized and receiving several operations while recovering.
