Knoxville School Board members met in a special session Friday morning, to approve the hiring of two new teachers at Knoxville Middle School.

Heather Smith has been hired as a Language Arts and Special Education teacher at the middle school; she is a graduate of William Penn, and has three years experience in the field.

Mary Oldham will be a sixth grade science teacher; she is a new teacher who has substituted before in the district, and had a background in health care before returning to school to get her education degree.

Both are scheduled to start their new jobs in August.
