Marion County Humane Society is seeking donations for its annual garage sale, coming up on Saturday, June 8th.
Items will be on sale at The Skate Pit on the Marion County Fairgrounds, adjacent to the Knoxville Raceway. The event will run from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and all proceeds will go towards supporting the organization’s shelter off of Pleasant Street in Knoxville.
Leslie Vanderlinden is President of Marion County Humane Society; she tells KNIA/KRLS News anyone with items to donate who were planning to take them elsewhere should consider giving them to this sale instead…because they could wind up indirectly benefiting their intended recipients.
“Anything that is left over will be picked up by Helping Hands, and distributed between Helping Hands and The Well; so if you’re considering donating something to The Well, you can still donate it to us and it may end up there anyway,” Vanderlinden says.
They will accept anything except clothing and electronics; Vanderlinden says they don’t have enough staff to handle those items.
Donations can be dropped off at The Skate Pit during the week leading up to the June 8th sale; you can go there on Sunday, June 2 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., or on Tuesday, June 4 and Thursday June 6 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
