Seventh graders at Pella Middle School made a significant impact in their community as part of their social studies class. This year, students raised over $3,100 through a concession stand. From that money, $2600 was donated to non-profit organizations and causes as voted on by students in Mrs. Schulz 7th grade social studies class and the student body. At a ceremony Friday, seventh graders presented checks to the leaders of causes they chose as a group to help benefit, including families of Pella Middle School students facing medical expenses, The Well, Crossroads of Pella, Many Hands for Haiti, the American Red Cross, and The Thirst Project.

To date, Pella Middle School seventh grade students have raised over $23,000 for over two dozen non-profit organizations. Tune into Let’s Talk Pella Tuesday to hear from the students who organize the project each year.
