The Pella School Board will consider the resignation of board member Lisa Jansen at their meeting today. Jansen has been battling a long-term illness and has missed several meetings for treatment. Members of the board recently wore special t-shirts at a meeting to support her recovery. The board will also review the last day of school for the current academic year. The board will consider a proposal that ends class on June 6th instead of the 7th, as previously scheduled. The district lost 62 hours due to winter weather, and had 44 ½ hours built in, leaving about three full days of school that needed to be made up. The board will also consider a change to graduation requirements, a resolution on sports concussion protocol, and review of the Marion County Child Care Needs Assessment. The session is being held today at 4:30 p.m. in the Pella High School Main Office Conference Room.
