Indianola Special Olympics athletes competed in the Special Olympics Summer Games held in Ames May 23rd-25th, after qualifying from the West Central Regional Competition in April. Earning 1st place finishes was Sam Hatten in the 100m Individual Medley in swimming, and Antonio Lenguadoro in the 250m cycling race. Lengaudoro also placed 5th in the 100m dash, and 3rd in the 1k cycling race. Ashley Ahrens placed 2nd in the Turbo Javelin, Mekayla Berkley placed 2nd in the Walk With Me race, and Brandon Kinsey had a 5th place finish in the standing long jump.
