The Warren County Board of Supervisors met in joint session with the Warren County 911 Service Board Tuesday evening. The topic of discussion was the replacement of the Warren County 911 system as put together by Motorola. The original proposal by Motorola totaled $10,990,641, but after various discounts and negotiation of the proposal, the latest number was down to $9,456,948. Recurring maintenance costs include over $200,000 per year. The Warren County Emergency Management Commission voted approval of the proposal, with Indianola and Norwalk voting no, which will now go in front of the board of supervisors at a later date to approve funding. The supervisors will again meet in special session today at 8:30am holding a public hearing on a budget amendment with possible action on an appropriation.
