The Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards will be presented this evening in Des Moines, and several Knoxville High School students will be performing as well as receiving their accolades.

Members of the cast of “Little Shop of Horrors” will be taking part in the showcase event at the Des Moines Civic Center; Asa Leonard has been invited to perform a portion of the award-winning “Mushnick and Son” scene.

And cast members Lane Franck, Katie Collins and Riley Newendorp have also been invited to perform in the finale medley with other students from across the state.

Asa also won for Outstanding Performance in a Principal Role; recipients for Special Recognition in a Principal Role include Taryn Johnson as Audrey, and Ethan Rowland as the Voice of Audrey II.

The annual showcase event begins at 7:00 p.m.
