pig-out

The Pleasantville Pig Out was a fun weekend for the many people who attended and participants in the various contests and events; but the ultimate goal of the festival was to support improvements for the city itself.

Chris Harvey is treasurer for the Pleasantville Betterment Organization; she tells KNIA/KRLS News the town’s ballparks will benefit from the proceeds for this weekend.

“One of our new accomplishments this year was installing a drinking fountain/water bottle filling station, and that’s attached to our Little League concession stand. We also have added cement up to the concession stand as the city has landscaped that area, we have been part of that as adding cement as well to make a nice little patio area; and we do have some new picnic tables on order,” Harvey says.

The Pleasantville Betterment Organization’s goal for the fields is to buy new lights for a ball diamond; proceeds from their fundraisers throughout the year go towards other projects meant to improve the community.

The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio was on the scene, playing music and helping to entertain the crowd.
