The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Red Rock continue to host several activities as summer break begins for many this week. Park Ranger Tracy Spry says they will have programs for all ages in June and July as a way to encourage area residents to enjoy the recreation opportunities available at the lake. On Friday, Nature Crafts will be held at 7 p.m. at the Playscape. On Saturday morning, Vern Cochran with Missouri River Energy Services will discuss an update about the Red Rock Hydroelectric Project. Cochran will share more about the facility and how it will impact the region at 10 a.m. in the Visitor Center. Geocaching will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Howell Station Landing, which remains open despite the closure to the campground. Reservations are not needed and all activities are free of charge.
