Scattered thunderstorms possible today may become severe, according to the National Weather Service. A slight risk for severe weather has been issued in most of Iowa by the Storm Prediction Center. Conditions are favorable for the development of scattered thunderstorms capable of producing large hail and damaging winds–as well as brief downpours, this afternoon and evening.
