Christian Opportunity Center celebrated 50 years as an organization with the 18th annual Golf Classic held at Bos Landen Friday. In total, 120 golfers signed up to support COC and the various programs they have in south central Iowa assisting those with disabilities. Executive Director John Eilers says the organization’s recent emphasis has been on getting the people they serve into the workforce throughout the communities they serve.

At the event, 100+ Men on a Mission Red Rock presented a $4100 donation. In the evening, State Senator Ken Rozenboom, a former Christian Opportunity Center board member, spoke to the importance of its mission and how COC has grown over the years. The COC Golf Classic is the organization’s largest fundraiser. The KNIA/KRLS Big Red Radio was at the event, with interviews of those working for or impacted by COC sharing their stories.
