indianola-3

The Indianola softball team blew out Oskaloosa in game one 9-0, with the offense catching fire in the later innings. The game was quiet in the first two innings, until the Indians scored on a Kassie Baker double to score Kate Kralik and took a 1-0 lead. Indianola went on to score 4 more in the 4th, as Sammie Becker hit her second grand slam of the season. The Indians scored runs in each of the final innings of the contest, with Kralik picking up the win in the circle. Gracey May had three hits in the contest.

In game two, the Indians took a 1-0 lead in the 1st off an RBI single by Sammie Becker, and that lead would hold throughout the contest, as the Indians put in another insurance run in the 4th when Brooke Tucker hit a ball over the fence, adding another in the 7th off of an Alley May single. Kralik again picked up the win in the circle, as the Indians improve to 15-4 and have won 4 in a row. They will next play Monday at Newton.

The Indianola baseball team was swept by Oskaloosa, with the final scores of 5-3 and 3-2, ending the Indians two game winning streak. Head Coach Casey Aldridge tells KNIA Sports Gabe Zwanziger and Tyce Johnson pitched well on the mound despite picking up the losses, and the squad played good defense but went up against a pair of good Osky pitchers.

Indianola will join the softball squad on Monday for a contest at Newton.
