The Knoxville Public Library has announced they will begin the move back to their newly expanded and renovated library in mid-July. The library– -currently at their temporary location at the old East Elementary building, will close their doors Saturday, July 13th with hopes to be back open at their new location on Monday, August 5th. Director of the Library, Roslin Thompson, tells KNIA/KRLS News the opening of the new location on August 5th is just the beginning and is considered the “soft open.” Thompson adds, the library will have their grand opening celebration for their newly expanded and renovated library on Saturday, August 24th from 10 am to noon. Thompson says everyone is really excited to move to the new building and she anticipates plenty of people will want to see what the new library has to offer.
