The 4th annual Marion County Bible Reading Marathon will begin Monday. In 2016, then-Governor Terry Branstad signed a proclamation encouraging Bible reading across the state, which started the marathon in Marion County. The Marion County Bible Reading Marathon will run through Wednesday, June 24th from 8am until 8 pm each day.  Jim Den Hartog with the marathon tells KNIA/KRLS News people can participate in the marathon by just attending the marathon. They will be given a slip and will read for 20 to 30 minutes. Hartog says if the marathon is not completed by Wednesday or is interrupted due to weather they will extend it until Thursday, June 27th.
