The Knoxville VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic has a new program they want local veterans to know more about. The Home Based Primary Care program allows veterans who have difficulty leaving the home, to have a team of care providers visit their home to give the care they would normally receive at the CBOC. Home Based Primary Care Program Director and Nurse Manager Roxanne McGee tells KNIA/KRLS News the team of care providers consists of a provider, nurse, social worker, dietitian, physical therapist and occupational therapist as well as a physcologist and pharmacist. McGee adds, there are certain criteria veterans have to meet to take part in the program. She says if a veteran or family member of a veteran is interested in learning more about the program to stop in or contact the Knoxville VA CBOC.
