Pella’s track and field coaches have again been recognized among the best in Iowa. The Iowa Track and Field Coaches Association announced their coaches of the year, and both Dak Rasmussen of the Lady Dutch and Brent Van Hauen with the Dutch boys were named at-large all-state head coaches in Class 3A. The Pella girls were tied for fifth as a team in Class 3A at state, dominated their district meet in Gilbert, and came out on top of the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Pella boys were 6th overall, including individual state champion Nick DeJong and several top five finishes at state, earning district and conference team titles as well.
