Chances for severe weather and heavy rainfall return to the forecast today and Saturday. According to the National Weather Service, a slight risk of both severe weather has been issued for mainly the afternoon and evening for south central Iowa. Strong, scattered thunderstorms capable of producing large hail, damaging winds, and torrential rain are all possible both days.
