The Knoxville VFW Post 3519 was packed Saturday evening as the post celebrated their All-State accomplishment with members of the community. The post invited the public to a crawfish boil as well as a chance to throw pies in the commanders faces to help raise money for different programs the vfw takes part in throughout the year. Post commanders from Knoxville and across the state were on hand to receive a pie to the face for $5 each. Junior Vice Commander for the State and Senior Vice Commander for Knoxville, Michael Braman tells KNIA/KRLS News he couldn’t ask more from the community then to support what the post does because the post would not be where it is without the community’s support. Braman adds, the post has an even higher target in their sights. Currently the post is ranked 50th nationally out of 15,000 posts nationwide. Braman says if they can stay ranked in the top 50 by the end of the month they will be named an All-American post. Saturday’s celebration concluded with live music courtesy of Sierra Griggs.
