The Knoxville Airport held their annual Fly-In and Drive-In Breakfast Saturday. Families filled the airport and enjoyed a breakfast of eggs, sausage and biscuits and gravy. Activities and exhibits included airplane rides; pony rides; Smitty’s inflatables, a ferris wheel, train rides, Mercy One helicopter tours; classic cars; Iowa Aviation Heritage Museum; 4-H Club petting zoo and much more.

Knoxville Airport Manager, Dan Van Donselaar tells KNIA/KRLS News it means a lot to see the people in town come out and support the airport. He says most people don’t come out unless there is something going on so when there is its nice to see everyone out and enjoying what the airport staff get to enjoy everyday. The Fly-In and Drive-In Breakfast coincided with this years National Ercoupe Convention which the airport was hosting for the second time since 2004. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio was also on hand playing music and making announcements.
