The Indianola softball team swept Grinnell in a doubleheader Friday evening on the road, winning 13-1 in game one, and 11-1 in game two heard live on 94.3 KNIA.

Game one saw the Indians jump out to a 9-0 lead through the first five innings, getting three RBI doubles from Destiny Lewis, an RBI single from Macie Mays, and strong baserunning to get the lead. Grinnell got a run back in the 6th, but a three-run home run from Sammie Becker plus another RBI single from Mays sealed the victory. Kate Kralik got the victory in the circle.

Game two was much of the same for the Indians, with Diamond Mosley getting an RBI double in the first followed by a two-run home run by Brooke Tucker to get out to a 3-0 lead. The Indians added four more in the 3rd with RBI singles from Emily Chapman and Kassie Baker, and two more in the 4th with another two-run shot from Sammie Becker. Another home run from Destiny Lewis, plus the winning RBI single from Hannah Riggs put the Indians up 10 runs as they ended the game in six innings. Kralik again won in the pitching circle for the Indians, who have won 13 in a row and improve to 24-4 on the season and 17-1 in Little Hawkeye Conference play. They will next host Oskaloosa on Monday.
