Tomorrow is the Knoxville Public Library’s last day at their temporary location at the old East Elementary Building. The library moved to the temporary location in March of 2018 as construction and renovation began for their permanent location. Following the final day at the temporary location the library will close for three weeks before re-opening in their permanent location on August 5th. Director of the library Roslin Thompson tells KNIA/KRLS News that she is most excited to see all the space that will be available at the new location. Thompson says the furniture will be beautiful as well as the study and meeting rooms and teen area. She says she thinks people will really enjoy the drive up book drop that will be located in the alley. The Grand Re-Opening celebration and ribbon-cutting for the newly renovated building is planned for Saturday, August 24th from 10 a.m. to noon.
