The Knoxville baseball team took a 1-0 lead early against Indianola Friday evening, but the Indians would score 10 straight afterwards to win 11-1 in six innings in a game heard live on both 95.3 and 94.3 KNIA. The Panthers struck first on a run by Kaleb Striegle taking a walk and capitalizing on an Indian error, but that would be all the offense the Panthers would muster as Indians pitcher Gabe Zwanziger was effective in his six innings of work. The Indians answered the Panther score with a four run 2nd inning, with an RBI doubles from Grady Haynes and Aiden Freshly, and a 2-RBI single from Quinn Vesey.

he Indians added another three in the 3rd with another 2-RBI single from Vesey, and the game stagnated from there until the bottom of the 6th. The Indians got a 2-RBI double from Zwanziger, then pinch-hitter Ethan Ellsworth hit an infield 2-RBI single that ended the game via the run rule. Zwanziger took the win on the pitching mound, while Ben Olson took the loss for the Panthers. Indianola improves to 19-14 on the season and will next play Gilbert on Monday, while Knoxville is now 12-27 and will play at Dowling Catholic on Tuesday.
