The 9th Annual Red Rock Balloonfest continues today, with several activities scheduled at North Overlook Beach. Jill Vandevoort with the Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau says there will be a band performing this evening, along with a new balloon-related event. The third scheduled launch of the weekend takes place this evening, and a fourth one is set to take off early Sunday morning. Several activities are being hosted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers throughout today as well, including a special celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Red Rock Dam at 5:30 p.m. on North Overlook Beach. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio will be playing music from the beach throughout the day today.
