The Pella Public Library will host a Sci Fi Trivia Night inspired by the Summer Reading Program theme, “A Universe of Stories.” Fans of Star Wars, Star Trek, The Jetsons, the Dune and Foundation series or other science fiction books, movies and TV shows, can put together a team of up to four members and test their knowledge. The program is on Wednesday from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. Participants must be at least 16 years old and registration is required. One person should register for each team at the library, by calling the library at 641-628- 4268, or by going to their website, https://pellalibrary.libcal.com/. Snacks will be provided by Hy-Vee. Also in celebration of the Summer Reading Program theme, A Universe of Stories, and the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing, the Pella Public Library is hosting a special event to commemorate the occasion. Historian Michael Eckers will take audiences on an adventure to learn how rocket technology developed during World War II, and how it eventually led to the “Space Race” between the United States and the Soviet Union. The program will be held on Tuesday, July 23 at 6:30 p.m., which is free and open to the public and will be held in the Pella Library Meeting Room.
