Pageturners Bookstore on the downtown Indianola square is celebrating their 5th birthday with an event for customers. Proprietor Kathy Magruder tells KNIA News local bookstores are seeing a lot of success around the nation, and she is excited to be able to celebrate this anniversary with customers.

“I’m a member of the Midwest Independent Bookstore Association, and there have been 30 new stores opened up around the midwest and in our group. So people are really interested, and people around here are really interested and supportive.”

The celebration will include food, games, and prizes throughout the day available to all customers, which will take place on July 27th.
