The Knoxville School Board met in regular session Monday evening. High school Spanish students presented highlights of their recent trip to Ecuador. The board approved fundraisers for the upcoming year, an overnight trip by the FFA to Fritz’s Farmhouse in Guttenburg, and extended the extension of the driver education contract with Triple R driving school.

They also approved an additional section of 4-year-old preschool through Stepping Stones. They approved the purchase of 118 Apple HD TV projectors for $17,500 that will allow wireless projection from recently purchased iPads, and a John Deere mower for $14,800.

The board approved a design contract for the construction of a 5,800 square foot storage building with 13 foot walls and overhead doors for $30,500. The proposed location is adjacent to Randy Wilson Track behind the maintenance shop.

They approved a contract with MTS of Des Moines for a tuckpointing project at the High School at a cost of $15,400. 

They tabled a revision of the Employee Handbook, and accepted changes in Series 500 policies.

They designated a variety of personnel to standing positions, among other matters. The board was reminded that the Annual Back-to-School-Bash on July 31.
