As summer winds down the Webb Shadle Memorial Library wants to remind residents there are still a few activities for children to enjoy as part of the library’s summer reading program. This Saturday, July 20th the library will feature Winged Jewels: Butterflies of Iowa. Children will learn about the different types of butterflies found in our prairies, woodlands and even in our own backyards. After the indoor program, children will head outdoors and search for butterflies around the library. Then on Wednesday, July 24th at 1 pm children will get to learn more about different reptiles, including snakes, turtles, and salamanders during Reptiles Alive with Lake Aquabhi State Park Interpretive Naturalist Cassandra Alfstad. All programs are free and open to the public with no registration necessary,
