The Pella baseball team closed out the regular season with a momentum-building 9-6 win at ADM Tuesday. The Dutch jumped on the Tigers early with a four run first inning, only for ADM to respond with 6 in the bottom of the 4th. Pella answered in the top of the 5th with two more tallies to tie it, and put up a three-spot in the top of the 8th inning to eventually win it in extras. Gabe Thomas was 3-for-5 from the plate with a double and two runs batted in, all while stealing three bases in the game, and Ryan Mace also knocked in two runs with a 2-for-5 game and a triple. Mason Wittmer and Parker VanWaardhuizen combined to just allow three hits in the final 4 ⅓ innings, with VanWaardhuizen getting the win on the mound. The Dutch finish the regular season at 11-22 overall, with Solon looming on Friday evening in Oskaloosa to begin the 3A baseball playoffs. Hear that game live on 92.1 KRLS.
