Lt. Governor Adam Gregg made a recent visit to Pella to meet with young farmers about the state of the industry and their future in Iowa. Gregg is the chair of the Empower Rural Iowa Initiative, which focuses on three areas for growth outside of major metro areas: housing, leadership, and broadband connectivity. Gregg says he enjoyed getting to meet the farmers through the Farm Bureau Young Farmers board, which included 24 people who expressed a desire to become leaders in the agriculture industry. He says despite many of the challenges farmers have faced, many of those in the room with Gregg were optimistic about the future.
