The Knoxville Baseball Squad has not had a great season this summer. The Panthers are 12-28 heading into the Class 3A district opener against top seed and number seven ranked North Polk. The Comets boast of two pitchers with minuscule ERAs led by Colten Parkens and his 1.16 and John Husak sporting a 1.56 ERA. Knoxville Coach Matt Miller tells KRLS Sports he does not know which pitcher will start for North Polk, but instead of worrying about who North Polk will roll out, he is keeping his players focused on what they need to do to have a chance to pull the upset tonight. The Panthers and Comets will be the nightcap of a doubleheader in Alleman tonight as Norwalk and Carlisle will battle in the first game at six. Tonight’s Knoxville game has also been moved back and hour due to the extreme heat. You can hear the call on 95.3 KNIA beginning with the pregame at 7:45.
