A Lovilla man was arrested Wednesday following a traffic stop in April. According to court documents, on April 12th of this year, officers with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a 1997 Blue Ford Expedition driven by 39-year-old Dustin Bonnett of Lovilla in the 2400 block of Highway 92 near Tracy. During the stop, officers found Bonnett’s license was suspended. Bonnett advised officers that he was sitting on a meth pipe. Officers initiated a search of the vehicle and found 12.01 grams of methamphetamine, 9.3 grams of marijuana and a glass smoking device with white residue inside. Bonnett was arrested and charged with two controlled substance violations, a class B felony and a class D felony, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a class D felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a serious misdemeanor.
