Following the resignation of former Knoxville City Council Member Cal Stephens the Knoxville City Council voted to appoint an applicant to the position following an interview process. As of Wednesday, two individuals have indicated their interest in filling the vacant position with the deadline to apply on Wednesday, July 31st. Knoxville Assistant City Manager Heather Ussery tells KNIA/KRLS News anyone interested in filling the vacant position can submit a letter of interest and resume to City Hall for review by the council. Ussery says following the July 31st deadline the remaining Councilmembers will review all submitted material, and may schedule a meeting to interview interested candidates. If needed, interviews would likely take place on either August 5th or August 12th. For more information regarding the vacancy contact Knoxville City Hall.
