The Indianola softball team will be one of just four class 5A teams to end their season at the state tournament with a victory, after taking down Ottumwa 4-1 Wednesday afternoon in Fort Dodge, in a contest heard live on 94.3 KNIA. The Indians broke through early on with Destiny Lewis hitting a single, stealing second, and then advancing to third and eventually home on passed balls to put the Indians up 1-0, with Brooke Tucker hitting a solo shot over the left-center field fence to make it 2-0 after two. The Bulldogs got a run back in the second, but Indianola quickly answered again with a Selia Becker groundout, and a Diamond Mosley RBI hit, and that would be all the scoring in the contest. Kate Kralik got the win in the pitching circle, with Brooke Tucker pitching the final two innings for the save. Bella Bingaman and Tucker each got two hits in the victory. Indianola ends their season with a record of 34-5, and graduate five seniors.
