The Warren County Board of Supervisors met in special session Thursday morning. The board deferred a public hearing regarding the plans and specifications, contracts, and estimate of cost of the Warren County Justice Center Project until a special meeting on August 13th. The board approved a proposal from the Warren County Engineer’s Office for pavement marking throughout the county for $65,440, approved the early purchase of two belly dump trucks that were scheduled to be purchased in the 2019/20 fiscal year, and approved a public bidding process for bond underwriting for the county. The board also discussed funding possibilities for a secondary roads facility, proposing either a public bond referendum or a loan option, and discussed a potential upcoming bond measure in November to resurface four major roadways in the county, Highway R57 from Highway 92 to G24, Highway S23 from Milo to Lacona, Scotch Ridge Road from Highway 65 to Carlisle, and Highway G76 from New Virginia to Highway 69, with no official action taken.
