The deadline to be considered by the City of Knoxville to fill the vacant city council position is this week. As of last Friday, only two individuals have indicated their interest in filling the vacant position. Jerrold Jordan and John Gotta have both formally informed the city of their interest. The deadline to apply to be considered is Wednesday, July 31st. Anyone interested in filling the vacant position can submit a letter of interest and resume to City Hall for review by the council. Following the July 31st deadline the remaining Councilmembers will review all submitted material, and may schedule a meeting to interview interested candidates. If needed, interviews would likely take place on either August 5th or August 12th. For more information regarding the vacancy, contact Knoxville City Hall.
