Colorado Senator and Democratic Party presidential candidate Michael Bennet made a campaign stop in Indianola Saturday morning, speaking to potential caucus goers on a range of issues. Bennet talked about the release of his rural healthcare plan, and tells KNIA News he believes allowing a choice will be the most effective plan moving forward.
“The best way to get to universal healthcare is to give everybody in America the chance to make a decision for themselves on whether they want to stay on their private plan, or buy a public plan from the government. That’s the spirit on what this country was built, that kind of choice. So that’s what my Medicare X plan offers every American. It starts in rural areas where there are one or fewer insurers before moving out to the rest of America.”
Bennet also took questions on education, election security, and the democratic process among others. To hear more, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
