The City of Monroe is celebrating Old Settlers this Friday and Saturday. Pony rides, night volleyball, Steppin’ Out Dance Studio, the PCM Cheerleaders, water fights, and children’s parade are all highlighted activities and entertainment Friday evening, starting at 5:30. The Monroe 34th Annual Micro Marathon 5K run/walk & 10K run begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, with registration at 7:00 that morning. The annual car show begins at 8:00 as well, with a sand volleyball tournament, children’s sports, a tractor show, and kids activities until noon and other activities and entertainment continuing all day. The annual parade will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday beginning at PCM High School. The theme is “I Love The 80’s, with no entry fee required and prizes awarded. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio will be participating in some of the Old Settlers events this weekend.
