In the same game this fall, two major milestones were achieved by Simpson running back Cam Bunting. Playing on the blue field in Decorah against Luther, Bunting rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns to dominate the Norse in a 27-17 victory for the Storm. In the second quarter, Bunting surpassed 2,000 career rushing yards on a 30-yard run, and went over 1,000 yards rushing for the second straight season when he rattled off a 26-yard run midway through the third quarter. Bunting ended the season with 1,396 yards and 13 touchdowns, and became only the second Simpson player to earn back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons since Ricky Gale.
