An upset win over the top ten ranked opponent is the Knoxville number six sports moment of the 2018/2019 academic year. In a week three game the Knoxville Football Squad played class 2A number eight Centerville. After a lopsided loss to Fairfield in week one and a close win over Saydel in week two, not many gave the Panthers a chance to be in the game. It was a scoreless tie at the half with neither offense getting any traction. However that would change on the first play of the second half. Kieren Nichols would gain 122 yards on the ground while teammate Carter Bailey would pick up 115 and the Panthers knocked off the Big Reds 27-12. The 326 yards on the ground was a high water mark for the season for the Panthers ground attack. Knoxville would go on to finish 3-6.
