Multiple area baseball players earned All-District honors, as voted on by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association. Pella’s Gabe Thomas was a 1st team selection in Class 3A Central District. Mike Hudson of Knoxville was a 2nd team honoree in the same district. In Class 2A Central District, Will Dembski was a 1st team selection as a pitcher. Teammates Lawson Bruxvoort and Devin Haveman were 2nd team honorees as catcher and 1st baseman respectively. Derek Brown of PCM was also a 1st team pitcher in the same district in 2A, as was teammate Olin Meinders as an outfielder. Reed Worth and Sage Burns of the Mustangs were 2nd team selections. Grant Fouch and Quintin Bergland of Pleasantville each earned 1st team Central District honors in Class 2A as well. Indianola Pitcher Joey Bylund was a 1st team honoree in Class 4A South Central District.
Pella’s Thomas, as well as Dembski and Bruxvoort of the Eagles, have been selected to compete in the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Showcase beginning Thursday in Carroll, beginning Thursday. All-State honorees will be announced at the end of the showcase.
