An Omaha man was arrested Thursday in Pleasantville after he allegedly tried to conceal drugs in a restroom. According to court documents 56-year-old Skipper Poncy of Omaha called police to tell them he had been robbed. As officers spoke with Poncy they noticed a black cloth bag on the side pocket of his shorts. Poncy told officers his vehicle was nearby and could take the officers to it, but that he needed to use the restroom at a local business first. While Poncy was using the restroom the officer asked the owner of the business to inspect the restroom once Poncy exited and to let the officer know if there was anything unusual. As the officer and Poncy were about to leave, the owner of the business told the officer to come back inside at which time the owner pointed to the trash can which had drug paraphernalia inside. The owner of the business stated he had just cleaned the restroom that morning and Poncy was the only person who had used it. The items were two scales with a white powder substance, one glass pipe with white residue, one plastic syringe bag and a black cloth bag which the officer identified was the same bag he had seen earlier on Poncy’s body.

Poncy admitted to having the items and possessing methamphetamine. Officers also found a glass jar inside a toilet in the restroom that contained 17.75 grams of a white substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Poncy was arrested and booked into the Marion County jail. During booking officers found a pill bottle that contained several Lorazepam tablets which Poncy did not have a prescription for. Poncy has been charged with a controlled substance violation a class B felony, unlawful possession of prescription drugs a serious misdemeanor and possession of drug paraphernalia a simple misdemeanor.
