The Indianola City Council meets in regular session this evening. After a work session in July on the downtown streetscape plan, the council will vote on the issue. The plan currently would change the square to two-way traffic all around, and change the nearby one-way side streets to two-way traffic as well. Parallel parking will replace angled parking on the outside of the square, with angled parking remaining on the outside of the courthouse, among many other changes. The council will also consider three pickleball courts in the YMCA parking lot, trail easements, and host a public hearing on the Hillcrest Urban Renewal plan before going into closed session to discuss real estate and personnel matters. The meeting begins at 6pm in the city council chambers at Indianola City Hall.
