Today we continue our top 10 countdown of the top moments of the 2018-19 school year with number four. After graduating a senior class of 10 from an incredibly talented squad, there were a lot of unanswered questions coming into the 2019 season, as many players had not seen many innings at the varsity level. Those questions were all answered, as the Indians recovered from an 0-5 start to end their season with a 24-15 record, a berth in the substate final game, and a Little Hawkeye Conference Championship. The Indians needed a doubleheader sweep of Grinnell with the postseason starting just two days later to win the conference, and saw huge pitching performances from Gabe Zwanziger, Tyce Johnson, and Dallas Jackson to pick up the 3-2 and 3-0 victories. Indianola then went on to take down Des Moines East and Lewis Central in the postseason, before falling to eventual state runner-up Johnston.
