A paring that had played together all season put it together in the individual regional and made the class 1A state tennis meet. Alex Griggs and Anna Sanderson teamed up to be our number three story for Knoxville this school year. Griggs and Sanderson qualified as regional runners-up after falling to a Pella Christian team in the finals. After getting to the state meet in Iowa City they fell in the first round of a team from Clarke in straight sets. Their season ended in the consolation round falling to a team from Cedar Rapids Xavier also in straight sets. Griggs and Sanderson graduated this year. Griggs will continue her athletic career at Central College on the Tennis Squad, while Sanderson has decided to join the military.
