Over 2.5 miles of crack sealant has been placed on Indianola streets over the course of the summer, and the Indianola Street Department has plans to double that amount while the warm weather is still in the area. Streets Supervisor Jason Etnyre tells KNIA News his department still has plans to improve a lot of the streets in the area, so the longer the warm weather holds, the better.
“Knock on wood that winter is still a ways away. We’ve got a very aggressive fall schedule to do, crack sealing, and signage work as well prior to the cold. Be looking for what’s out there, be paying attention while you are driving. A lot of these repairs are sizable in nature, but as my crew works, and I have a phenomenal crew, we are looking to make the least amount of impact on traffic while we are making the repairs. And also to make sure the people we will be impacting to let them know so they can make alternate plans if necessary.”
